I am so proud of my daughter. She is typically an oboe player, but for marching band, she plays percussion. Today she decided to dress up her drum sticks. She first sprayed them with a white primer, then covered them with glow-in-the-dark paint. While the paint was still wet, the drum sticks were sprinkled with blue glitter. 4 coats of glossy spray went over it all to keep the glitter on, with blue duct tape, she is now the fashion queen of the percussionists!
The sticks do glow in the dark, you'll have to take my word on it, as my camera did not want to snap a picture of them in the dark closet......any tips you might have for night-time picture taking would be greatly appreciated!

I am....
I received this in an email from a friend, and thought it might be best to post to answers online:
Who are you?
Who I Am...
I am...a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, teacher, scientist…
I am...a mother, wife, daughter, sister, friend, teacher, scientist…
I want...Peace… health… and happiness… for everyone.
I have...such a great family.
I wish...I could stay at home with the family.
I hate...nothing. I strongly dislike many things, but I do not think I am capable of hating.
I fear...heights and being eaten alive. I know 1 of them is irrational, but it’s still my fear.
I hear...the emotions in people’s voices.
I search...for the answers to all of the questions I have, & I have a lot of questions…
I wonder...what life is like on other plants, and what life lives there.
I regret...not exercising more.
I love...my family, and fruits & vegetables picked fresh from the backyard.
I ache...to be smarter. Not prettier, just smarter.
I always...tell my children & my husband that I love them.
I usually...think I look awesome in an outfit, until I see a picture of myself in that outfit.
I am not...a hairdresser, but I cut my own hair.
I dance...all the time, including in the car…
I sing...& think I sound pretty good, until my family asked me to stop singing.
I never...did drugs. Really had no desire to.
I sometimes…bite my nails. OK, more than sometimes.
I cry...too easily.
I am not always...the best at what I do, but I keep trying.
I lose...my keys. I’m starting to think there is a gremlin in the house that moves them.
I am confused...by the lack of compassion and selfishness some people possess.
I need...to not be such a procrastinator.
I should...keep in touch with my friends more often. Sorry!
Who are you?

Trophy Wife
I recently was told, by my son, that I am not a trophy wife. When I asked him what a trophy wife was like, he said "you know, the type of wives astronauts have - they look like Barbie."
So...Jon... Let me tell you about about your mom, & why she thinks she is a trophy wife.... No, your mom does not look like Barbie. She would need to lose 94 pounds before your friends say "your mom is HOT!"
Instead, your mom can hold an intellectual conversation and she can teach you how to build hovercrafts. She can cook anything under the sun, either in a kitchen or over a campfire. Your mom has been known to explain to PhD's in Chemistry where they went wrong in their experiments, and is handy with a pipe wrench. Most importantly, your mom has the ability to make people think they can accomplish anything, and boost their self-esteem.
I think it is more important to have a happy & healthy family, than it is to look like Barbie. What do you think?
